TOWARD AN ECONOMIC JUSTICE AGENDA FINALIZED
DSA's National Political
Committee completed the approval process of Toward An Economic Justice
Agenda at its May 2008 meeting. The document contains both
a political analysis and a program of short-term and
midterm reforms designed to redress the great increases in inequality
that we have witnessed over the last two decades.
The document was more than a
year in the drafting and was reviewed extensively by the membership as well as
by progressives who are close to DSA. Draft versions were distributed at
activist meetings ranging from the U.S. Social Forum in Atlanta to the
Take Back America Conference in Washington DC.
The delegates to DSA's
National Convention (November 2007) in Atlanta approved the document and a
series of amendments before submitting it to a committee to edit the document
for consistency. The editorial committee presented the document to the National
Political Committee for final approval in April.
Toward an Economic Justice
Agenda is available on DSA's website in an easy-to-read, easy-to-download
format. Later on this year we expect to print the document as
a pamphlet. To download a copy click here.
